Report 2: Summer Teams 2018
Edinburgh International Outreach (EIO)
During EIO we had people coming from a variety of different countries to the café including China, Czech Republic, Netherlands, Brazil and Saudi Arabia.
Our numbers varied from around 5 – 20 people each night. Even on the nights where we only had a small number of international students, there was still a Bible study held. One girl from China who went to our Bible study about the resurrection said in tears: “Now I know that Jesus is real. I have felt it in my heart.” Another Chinese girl who went to one of the Bible studies is now attending a local church with one of the team.
We were very encouraged to have double the team numbers from last year and to see their growth over the 2 weeks. We also had quite a few team members this year who were doing EIO for the second time. One of them said: "I'm in awe of how God was working in me and using EIO for my own growth. Two years ago, I was leading an evangelistic Bible study for the very first time in my life and now, here I was, supporting and encouraging others so they might learn how to prepare maybe the first evangelistic Bible study in their lives. I'm so thankful for such an experience.”
The team are now going back to their Christian Unions having grown in their faith, confidence and excitement for international ministry.

Oxford International Outreach (OIO)
"We're thankful for a great outreach this year with a multi-national team. The team were really active on the streets doing Soularium in the afternoon, and despite the heat. Thankful too for signs of what God is continuing to do even after the mission. David (Taiwan) got to know the team at Cafe 360 and after the outreach, met up for church twice with team members in London. He left saying he would try to go to church with Christian friends when he goes home.
Several years ago a young Chinese boy visited the OIO Cafe with his dad and was given a Chinese Bible. Returning home to China, he decided to start going to church and became a believer. This year he was back at OIO - but on the team as a committed Christian who is now a student in London and wanting to serve God among internationals. A real reminder that the Lord is at work bringing growth to the seed sown, even though we might not always see it!
